27th Annual Golf Classic to benefit cardiac catheterization lab


The 27th Annual Mount Nittany Health Golf Classic will be held Saturday, August 12, at the Penn State Blue & White Golf Courses, with registration beginning at 9:30 am and a shotgun start beginning promptly at 11:00 am.

For the third consecutive year, funds raised from this four-person scramble tournament will benefit the cardiac catheterization lab at Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Team prizes for each flight will be awarded to the 16 winning teams placing first through fourth in both net and gross scores on each course. Prizes will be awarded for each course for the longest drive, straightest drive, closest to the pin, and longest putt. The event will also feature a putting contest with cash prizes. One lucky golfer will also win his or her choice of $12,000 or a 2017 Chevrolet Spark. In addition to the team prizes, new this year is a Jamaican trip raffle, sponsored by Brenner International. Take the chance to win a seven-day trip to Amedis Villa off Jamaica’s South Coast. Amedis Villa offers a private beach, six bedrooms (sleeps 12), and two swimming pools. All participating golfers will enjoy a round of golf, a boxed lunch courtesy of Bonfatto’s, post-play reception dinner and awards ceremony sponsored by Curtze Food Service, commemorative gift, and in-cart refreshments and snacks.

Having raised more than $2.1 million since its inception in 1991, the Golf Classic supports critical programs and equipment purchases at Mount Nittany Medical Center, benefiting patients across the region. Attendees can participate through volunteering, sponsorship and individual golfer opportunities.
