Lamb auctioned at Grange Fair raises $1,763 for Medical Center

Marissa Bilyeu presents a check to Matt Hardy, CFRE, executive director, Mount Nittany Health Foundation

How does a lamb bring comfort to patients at Mount Nittany Medical Center? By raising money to create comfort boxes for cancer patients who are hospitalized, of course.

As part of her senior project, Marissa Bilyeu donated the funds raised from auctioning her lamb at this year’s Grange Fair. Marissa donated the funds to Mount Nittany Health Foundation in memory of her Uncle Rick, who passed away in 2011 at the age of 58 from mesothelioma.

The comfort boxes include lip balm, mouthwash, water flavor packets, lotions, nail care supplies, lemon drop candies, and other items. These types of items help with mouth issues, medication issues, and general morale.
