Earlier this year, we kicked off a fundraising campaign for a significant expansion of our women & children’s services department at the Medical Center. More than $180,000 was raised at the 71st Annual Mount Nittany Medical Center Charity Ball in February, and the project is scheduled to begin in 2020.
The largest unit of its kind in the region, women & children’s services serves women’s healthcare, pediatric patients, and welcomes more than 1,300 newborns every year. Every detail of the project for the labor and delivery area will be designed with families in mind, and will include new labor and delivery rooms, post-partum rooms, nursery, family support space, more efficient clinical work areas and a new operating room - with personalized features, advanced technology, and a focus on safety.
New spaces will also be created for women’s healthcare to ensure comfort, care and privacy during healing, as well as, a new space for pediatric patients with their special needs in mind, including more privacy and family support places.
Through your generous philanthropy, we’re hoping you’ll join us in supporting the growing number of women and families that trust Mount Nittany Health with their care. In this season of giving, please consider supporting this important project with a gift to Mount Nittany Health Foundation.
