Mount Nittany Health Foundation hosted the 71st Annual Mount Nittany Medical Center Charity Ball on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center. Themed A Majestic Evening Through the Greek Isles, raised $180,000 for women & children's services at Mount Nittany Medical Center. One of Mount Nittany Health Foundatin's premier fundraisers, 550 guests enjoyed an evening of food stations featuring flavors of the region and dancing to EBE Entertainment's band, Paris, chaired by Gina Woskob and co-chaired by Tracie Doucette.
A special thank you to the Charity Ball committee and members of our community who came together in an amazing show of suport for our vital community resource for women, children and families in our area with this premier community event," says Kathleen Rhine, president and CEO, Mount NIttany Health. "This show of generosity at this event is another of the wonderful ways that our community continues to support Mount Nittany Health and healthcare locally."
The largest unit of its kind in the region, the Medical Center's women & children's department, with dedicated medical and nursing teams, serves women's healthcare, pediatric patients and welcomes more than 1,300 newborns every year. Given the importance of this vital community resource for women, children and families, Mount Nittany Health is planning a significant renovation in 2020.
Corporate sponsors, including Santorini-level sponsors, Alexander - A Butz Family Company, Centre Emergency Medical Associates, Geisinger and Mount Nittany Physician Group along with valued other sponsors and individuals helped to make this evening a success.
Congratulations to Justine Reissmann of State College, winner of the Mercedes-Benz European Driving Tour! Justine and a friend will enjoy a 5-day vacation in Europe, courtesy of Mercedes-Benz of State College. Nearly $19,000 was raised by the raffle. The online auction raised more than $36,000 and gave bidders the opportunity to bid on more than 100 items ranging from local gift cards to sports packages, spa retreats, fine jewelry and more.
Each year, we are astounded by the generosity of this community," shares Woskob. "The Charity Ball committee continues to be humbled by the kindness shown by so many, and the willingness to help others."
