Mount Nittany Health remains firmly committed to the health and wellbeing of our patients, our staff, and the community, while simultaneously preparing and responding to COVID-19. The community has generously supported Mount Nittany Health through these extraordinary days with an outpouring of donations to the COVID-19 Response Fund, as well as, gifts of food and personal protective equipment.

Most recently, the health system was the beneficiary of a gift of 6,000 face masks donated by the MilliporeSigma SPARK™ program. MilliporeSigma was founded in Germany in 1668, the company – with three business sectors including healthcare, life science and performance materials – has sites in 66 countries around the world, including a local office in Bellefonte.

Tracy Michele Binkley, BSBio, SPARK Coordinator and Quality Control Analyst from MilliporeSigma shares, "MilliporeSigma SPARK™ program is an ongoing, global volunteer initiative designed to allow employees to use their diverse talents, skills and experiences to give back to the communities in which they live and work.  The majority of SPARK™ outreach is providing hands-on and virtual science education at local schools and community events, including interactive science lessons, called Curiosity Labs™ and visits from our Curiosity Cube®, a retrofitted shipping container turned mobile science lab. SPARK™ teams also coordinate food bank and clothing drives as well as neighborhood and charity events.  During these challenging times, our in-person programs have been suspended due to COVID-19 restrictions.  In a time when community connection is more important than ever, MilliporeSigma is grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact locally by supporting Mount Nittany Medical Center with a donation of N95 surgical masks.”

“We extend our deepest appreciation to MilliporeSigma for this generous gift of face masks,” says Simon Corby, executive director, Mount Nittany Health Foundation. “These masks will be used by staff  as they continue to safely deliver exceptional care to our patients and serve our community.”
