Mount Nittany Health is pleased to announce that Simon Corby has been named executive director of Mount Nittany Health Foundation.

“We are pleased to welcome Simon to Mount Nittany Health,” says Kathleen Rhine, president and CEO of the health system. “Simon’s role as executive director of the Mount Nittany Health Foundation is critical to engaging our community in meeting the changing healthcare needs of those we serve.”

Corby earned his bachelor’s degree with first-class honors from the University of Lincoln in Hull, England, and his Master of Arts from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Most recently, Corby served for four years as director of development and alumni relations for The Pennsylvania State University College of Education, where he raised more than $15 million in new commitments for the college. During his total 15-year tenure at Penn State, Corby served as strategic counsel to senior academic leaders, deans, vice presidents and development colleagues. In 2016, he was recognized with the Patrick Scholl Mentor Award for his leadership.

“My family members and I have all benefited from Mount Nittany Health over the years,” says Corby. “As a patient, a community member and a fundraising professional, I see this role as a way to make a positive contribution to the place I have chosen to make my home.”

Outside of the office, Corby serves as a volunteer firefighter with the Boalsburg Fire Company.

“Philanthropy is a helping profession that not only benefits the recipient, but also has a direct impact on the donor,” says Corby. “It is my honor to work with donors to best achieve their philanthropic goals.”
