Dolores and Joe Taricani’s relationship with Mount Nittany Medical Center began in the 1960s when Joe, a Certified Public Accountant, was asked to join Centre Community Hospital’s Board of Trustees. He served on the board during the hospital’s move from Bellefonte to State College, a decision that, while difficult for both communities, has been integral to the many years of improvements and expansion of Mount Nittany Medical Health.

Dolores, who also contributes to local government and community development efforts, continues to leave her own mark upon Mount Nittany Health via ongoing service and philanthropy, and now her son, Tom, serves beside her. In addition to generous donations, such as Dolores’ leadership gift to The Lance and Ellen Shaner Cancer Pavilion in Joe’s memory and a major gift to the East Wing, she serves as a long-time member of Mount Nittany Health’s Institutional Review Board.

“First-class medical care is critical to a successful community’s future,” said Dolores. “Quality medical services are essential to Centre County’s future development. There is nothing more important than quality healthcare.”
