Mount Nittany Health is a proud corporate sponsor of the Team Ream Foundation. On Sunday, March 10th, Penn State hosted its annual Team Ream basketball game where Team Ream presented the Mount Nittany Health Foundation with a check for $25,000 to assist financially disadvantaged individuals in the Centre region who have been affected by cancer and other serious medical conditions.

Since its inception, Team Ream has donated more than $231,000 in financial assistance to the Mount Nittany Health Foundation to help defray the overwhelming costs of treatments associated with cancer. Having these funds available to help patients with expenses has had an immeasurable impact on the patients served at Mount Nittany Health through the CANCER CARE PARTNERSHIP. Team Ream funds cover necessary expenses like medical and utility assistance, travel expenses, wig purchases, and more.

The Team Ream Foundation is a non-profit organization established to preserve the memory of Brandon Ream, a State College native, who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2011. He tragically passed away in 2013, but his memory lives on through the Team Ream Foundation, which will celebrate its 10th Anniversary this year.

Mount Nittany Health is fortunate to have a team of navigators who help patients deal with challenges they may experience with a cancer diagnosis. The navigators help remove barriers to care and serve as advocates for patients and their families while connecting them with financial assistance through the Team Ream Foundation.

The Mount Nittany Health Foundation is grateful for the many donations from individuals and organizations, including Team Ream, who help us provide comprehensive, compassionate cancer care, in the comfort of our own community. Please join us in thanking Team Ream and all those who showed their support by attending the event and supporting our mission of “Healthier people, stronger community.”
