What is ExpressCARE?

ExpressCARE is Mount Nittany Health’s walk-in service that provides immediate care for people of all ages. Located in State College, PA, we’re open seven days a week. to treat minor injuries and illnesses like colds, flu, scrapes, cuts, sore throat, urinary tract infections (UTI) and more.

We treat common issues like colds, flu, scrapes, cuts, sore throats, urinary tract infections and more. You can even come in for a physical for your driver’s license exam or school sports.

If you’re experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or head to the nearest emergency room.

Common symptoms treated at walk-in visits

When you need to be seen for a minor health issue and can’t wait for an appointment ExpressCARE is here to help.

Our team of providers diagnose and treats a wide range of non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, including:

Allergies and sinus infections
Coughs and wheezing
Sore throat
Cold and flu symptoms
Bronchitis, pneumonia and other infections
Ear problems, like ear pain or wax buildup
Urinary discomfort, including frequent or painful urination
Minor skin conditions, like rashes, bug bites and itching
Minor injuries, like cuts, bruises, scrapes, burns and sprains

Same-day appointments and walk-in availability for immediate care

You don’t need to make an appointment to get the care you need. At ExpressCARE, you can walk in during business hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week).

What age patients do you see?

Our providers at ExpressCARE treat people of all ages (adult, children and teens), whether or not you’re a Mount Nittany Health patient.

Do I need an appointment?

No, you don’t ever need an appointment to see an ExpressCARE provider — just walk in during our operating hours for care.

Do you do flu testing?

Yes, we offer influenza testing (flu tests) at ExpressCARE.

Is there anything you don’t treat at ExpressCARE?

If you have a serious or life-threatening injury, like broken bones, or think you may be having a heart attack or stroke, call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room. Visit the ER if you’re experiencing:

Difficulty breathing
Chest pain
Fast heartbeat
Difficulty speaking
Heavy bleeding
Broken bones
Choking
Severe burns

What insurance do you accept?

Mount Nittany Health ExpressCARE participates with most major health insurance plans. If you’re unsure whether your walk-in visit with us will be covered by your insurance provider, please call them to verify.

Can you prescribe medication?

Yes, our providers can prescribe medications to treat your injury or illness.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Bring your photo ID, health insurance card (if you have one) and payment to your ExpressCARE appointment. Please also have a list of any current medications.
